keeping her safe even if its from herself,
picking up the broken pieces,
never one to back away,
always ready to catch her when she falls,
reminding her of her strength
keeping her inner glow alight,
even a reality check when needed.

Calming her fears,
wiping away her tears,
or simply letting her cry
allowing her to see the heart inside,
causing her smile
even when not around,
enduring angry words and still around,
putting up with crazy nonsense.

Never using her weakness against her,
embracing her flaws
as much as her talents,
pushing her to be herself above all,
sharing wisdom,
full of heart,
meaning her well,
pushing past her sometimes stubborn heart.

You give more than I ever thought I deserved.

Through so much,
through triumphs and defeats,
despite even your own shadows,
doing what you have to do,
with two looks ahead and maybe one back,
